cool vs. uncool

ok, so my school dance was last night, and I saw all these little sixth grade girls. There seems to be a huge gap between their maturity and our maturity, and I dont hold it against them, it is just interesting to see the difference. Anyway, one thing I hate is people who try to be so cool. Like, whatever it is, making weird poses for pictures, etc. Almost all of the girls I saw were doing that. It made me so angry. This is my approach to cool and uncool. there is no such thing, people just made those terms up to make themselves better than anybody else. A thing can be cool, but not a person. Things dont have varying personalities... SO now to decide if we are all cool, all uncool, or all just--there. I cnat decide. I mean, it doesnt matter, does it? are there any things that would determine which to be?

"There seems to be a huge gap between their maturity and our maturity"

Can you imagine the difference between 7th and 8th? Try 10th grade to 7th...

Cool is not definite. It changes. If you want to be cool, you have to follow the crowd. The "Coolest" people are the leaders, not the followers.
^my 2.5 cents.

Ok so the whole cool thing, it makes me angry too. So when i go to the dances i see the girls grinding with guys like they're at a strip club or something. And they think it is so cool. Its like the say no to sex movie we saw in school today. Sex is bad not cool. Dont do it. What makes grinding with the opposite sex cool. I mean its just like ok ya so i grinded with someone whats the big deal. It angers me to see the 6th graders at the dance doing that. They make weird poses for pictures that are 'cool' which are no, they're stupid. I hate to see it. It makes the youth of our society look bad. And also, this also shows the maturity level as well. Their maturity compared to ours is so low its not funny. Also, what dan said, cool people lead crowds, they're not followers. Right on dan. I LOVE YOU SARAH.

melody again... ok so i think cool and uncool r just labels pretty much the way all adjectives are. personally i love grinding not bc its cool but bc its fun. if we have to ban "cool" and "uncool" then we have to get rid of all adjectives that label someone (which im all for by the way).

well im just sick of that image, and how you are pressured to be a certain way, and if you're not, you can be considered weird. and really, about the stores, and you are just so cool if u visit a certain one (abercrombie, hollister) i wonder what the difference is from any other store? like its not that they are bad stores, but if someone that isnt "cool" to someone's standered wears something from there it would become a big deal. so what makes someone "cool enough" to be able to shop there? same thing with simply going in a store. people expect certain people that look a certain way to shop at certain place. i've gotten kind of fed up with it. just saying.... :)

omg i totally agree. i think cool and uncool are stupid and just erects a giant wall between ppl. its a wall of unfriendliness and seperation, with an ugly and gopd side. i say this bc, the "cool" ppl think this wall is good, but the other side is miserable not being able to jump over. i think its not fair and its just an obstruction to society... =] lol i love thinking weird-ish.
