imo, pretty is more like cuter, wheras beautiful is more like stunning. I hate to use stunning, because prettiness can be stunning, as well. It is really hard to define these things...lets see what the dictionary says..

I dont particularly like them, but it shows there is a difference. ok, Beautiful is Elizabeth Taylor, Pretty is brigitte Bardot? no, that is a bad one. but you get my drift, right? I think they are equal, but different kinds of aesthetic appealing-ness...thoughts?

I always thought that pretty meant things about your facial features or how graceful something is, whereas beauty lies within the eyes of the beholder, meaning it is more like somebody's attitude and determination towards life. I guess beauty is overall how pretty somebody is in all aspects, whereas pretty is just physical features.
I always thought that pretty was a way of describing somebody's physical features whereas beauty is somebody's looks, attitude, and determination towards life. I guess it means that while being called pretty is a compliment, it is only external, whereas beauty is the person as a whole. While alot of people will call somebody pretty, less people will call somebody beautiful. I think that's why they say that beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.
ok beautiful is the people u fall in love wiht. pretty is the girls that guys look at in play boy magz. no to say those girls dont have natural beauty but i htink beautifl is more like an x- factor or a glow. so like if that person looks the worst they ever have ur still intrigued by them. like if they walk in a room ,even if uve seen them b4, ur still taken aback or stunned by theyre whole esencce or vibe.
From a guys point of view, beautiful is more of a complement. If a guy says, "I think your beautiful" it is better than when he says, "I think your pretty". This is coming from a sensitive guy so you may want a second opinion. Beautiful is sexy and Pretty is hott. Maybe that will help you.
Well, adding on to what Athan said, beautiful is really what a guy says when he means it. Pretty is just for the point of a compliment.

guess who? if u guessed melody ur right!! anyway not the point, so are there any truly beautiful people int he world? or do people only say "your beautiful" in dreamy tv shows? how do u kow a beautiful person when u see one? y dont people say men are beautiful? men can be if htey have like soul searching eyes and flowing hair and an adorable smile? or like soemone u cant look away from that u cant forget seeing, even if u cant remember his name. u can be beautiful and it can include pretty but can u be pretty and beautiful? am i just rambling? if i get to a point where i ask that i gues i am w/e ttyl
